About Backyard Lab

Backyard Lab makes hands-on science approachable for curious kids ages 6–14 and the grown-ups guiding them. Our projects begin with a good question and simple, inexpensive materials—often things already waiting in a kitchen cupboard or backyard.

Our Mission

We want kids to do more than watch science happen. Every kit, printable guide, and video is designed to help young experimenters test an idea, observe the result, and understand the science behind the surprise.
